Robert has international experience in the optimal economic configuration of electricity systems with a large proportion of renewables and storage in their energy supply mix, having undertaken many World Bank and UNDP funded cost benefit studies of hydroelectric schemes in Afghanistan, Burundi, Iceland, Indonesia, Rwanda, Surinam, Tanzania and Turkey.
In 2015 Robert completed the documentation of nearly 10 years of demand side management trialing, which has led to the current ongoing transformation of legacy electricity grids into smart girds that are employing evolving technologies, demand side participation methodologies and techniques and distributed generation and storage.
In 2015/16 Robert co-delivered to the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission held in Adelaide, South Australia on the Statement of Work entitled “Quantitative Viability Analysis of Generating Electricity from Nuclear Fuels”. To put this into context, Robert undertook system simulation and scenario modeling of the electricity grid in South Australia having an energy mix, at 2030 and 2050 time horizons, that include a significant proportion of renewables (photovoltaics and wind) and distributed storage (in home batteries, grid storage and electric vehicles). The work, which Robert is now doing, gives an invaluable insight of the likely future of energy systems and how evolving technologies that also supply heat can play a pivotal role in an ecologically friendly transformation of the energy sector.
Steve has extensive Digital marketing and Search engine optimasation experience having established his own unique model in the local market in Queensland.
Steve has been involved in marketing Total Energy Solutions with Solar /Wind, with market openings in Malta/ North Africa prior to the Libyan changes. Steve scoped out a $5M renewable energy project for the conversion of the Pavi supermarket in Malta, utilizing their carpark as the Solar energy generator, along with HVAC, refrigeration, heating and cooling systems.
Additionally providing the project scoping and financial modeling for the deployment of a $20M factory in Australia for the Motor development international technology. (MDI www.mdi.lu)
